A lot of work, effort, and fun went into making our wedding a special day. From the fingerprints to the photobooth and the license plates to the dances it took time and creativity to pull it off. We had the absolute best day of our lives thus far and can't wait to share in many more happy memories. For those of you who stayed at our beautiful hotel. You were greeted with a little welcome bag that fulfilled all of your midnight munchies and relieved your after party aches. The welcome bag had: Chips Cookies Candy Chocolate Water Advil Wipes Tissue Bath and Body hand sanitizer Welcome letter And love These last few months have been fun, stressful, happy, irritating, and an overall experience that I won't forget! That's a good and bad thing for some. We started with the excitement of getting engaged and showing off the beautiful ring. Charlie said that he knew he had to get a specific type of antique style engagement ring to ensure that I will say yes without a doubt. I told him that he was too cute not to say anything but yes. Be it as it may, he found the perfect ring and I said Yes of course. Then we moved onto the first phase of our planning which was finding the right place to hold our commitment vows. It would be a place where the people who loved us the most would gather rain or shine to see two people whose love is soo strong it radiates with purpose to those around them. We imagined white soft sand beneath our feet as we held hands of joy and tranquility listening to the soothing sound of waves breaking at the shore line. The sky turning into a painters dream reflecting off the clear ocean, while tropical music calmed our body, and thus preparing us for life's adventurous journey. The time is getting very close to an exciting moment in our lives. Charlie is a wonderful man to me and he will make an even better father one day. Somedays I start to get cold feet about the wedding but then I realize that with Charlie's sweet hand it's all worth taking this journey. On June 14 we went to the town hall and got our marriage license. It was truly a breath taken moment. We were both a little nervous and anxious at the same time. The process was smooth, quick, and easy. We kinda wanted them to question us on why we wanted to get married.? How long we were together? It's funny to know that on June 12, 1967 (less than 50 years ago) Charlie and I were not allowed to be married because of our skin color. Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1 (1967),[1]was a landmark civil rights decision of theUnited States Supreme Court which invalidated laws prohibiting interracial marriage. The case was brought by Mildred Loving, a black woman, and Richard Loving, a white man, who had been sentenced to a year in prison in Virginia for marrying each other. Their marriage violated the state's anti-miscegenation statute, the Racial Integrity Act of 1924, which prohibited marriage between people classified as "white" and people classified as "colored." The Supreme Court's unanimous decision held this prohibition was unconstitutional, overturning Pace v. Alabama (1883) and ending all race-based legal restrictions onmarriage in the United States. The decision was followed by an increase in interracial marriages in the U.S., and is remembered annually on Loving Day, June 12. It has been the subject of two movies as well as songs. In the 2010s, it again became relevant in the context of the debate about same-sex marriage in the United States. We also got a post card from Mickey and Minnie Mouse. We sent them an invitation to the wedding, but they had other plans and sent a post card. The handsome fiancé surprises me at every turn. We really needed a serving set so to my surprise he secretly went out and purchased a beautiful set. It's engraved 'To my wife, served with love'. Our names and year. I have the best future husband ever. I haven't been posting lately, however happy Memorial Day! BBQs all day long I want an invite.
My wedding plans are going on as planned with a few surprises on the way. I received an abundance of mail over the last month with the furthest coming from china. Thank you to everyone who started giving me pre-bridal shower gifts. They are much more than I ever expected. I love them. Even though some people are unable to attend the bridal shower, you are truly making this moment in my life special and it really warms my heart. Bridal Shower!
My mother sent me a sneak peek picture of my wishing well and she did a beautiful job. I'm excited to have it filled with all of the little necessities you guys bring. My bridal team is working together and making this happen. Thank you. Bridal shower : June 8, 2013 Wedding : July 7, 2013 Both by confirmed invite only. The list are made and the tables are set. Some will be with many, some will be with few. It doesn't matter who you sit with, as long as you close your mouth when you chew -Jen (original)
The venue is filled to capacity seating. I appreciate all the late RSVP inquiries but because of our venue restrictions we can not simply allow anymore guest at this time. Please understand that we want you to attend, however you will have to make another event. Music As most of you may know I have very specific music taste. Therefore if you want to dance to some tunes that may interest you then visit charliejennifer13.ourwedding.com and add it to the music selection. I'm soo excited for all the responses we received for the bridal shower. I'm even more excited that it is 1 month away and the day after cinco de mayo is the RSVP cutoff. If you are looking to get your name on the list contact my promoters ASAP. (Aka my Mom and/or Kathy)
They have been doing such a great job getting everything together and I'm glad we can fully plan things out with the tally of attendees complete. Here is a look at the bridal shower invite (some things were purposely blocked for privacy reasons), but contact me if your invite got lost in the mail. FYI The Groom will be in attendance!
We completed our marriage sessions and received a certificate. I can't wait for Sarah and Kelly to rock the ceremony and make our love official.
Today 4.27.13 we received quiet a few RSVPs back in the mail. There was one in particular that stood out from the rest. This RSVP was in a very unique envelope which I thought at first was someone guaranteeing their seat by sending it back priority mail. Then I quickly realized that something was off. Something like half of the letter was missing and it was an important half.
Therefore, we will save you a seat bc that's as much as we can make out. Remember. Always put return address on your letters. Yay today 4.26.13 we picked up my dress after 3 alterations. It fits perfectly as long as I don't indulge in temptations for the next 75 days. If I gain a pound the buttons will pop out. Beauty is pain ? Well pain from not eating all the pizza and icecream I want.
What am I going to do with this delicious cake? Today is Breezy's 13th birthday and she is having an icecream party. My ultimate weakness is icecream, lets see how much I want to fit into this dress.
