The days are just flying by and I have to catch up. If you haven't been around here's what's been going on over the last couple of weeks:
It snowed soo many times I lost count. Still by the end of March we were shoveling out then watching the snow melt on the roof. * Its April already and time for it to warm up!
After we bought the house we had to celebrate as a family.
City cellar dinner to celebrate our blessings.
For our first night we rolled our the air mattress and set up in the living room. It was a restless night for me.
We can't resist an opportunity to get a cheesecake. Pineapple of course.
Our work started with a semi blank canvass. You will see that the wallpaper covering every inch of the house will grow on us. Especially bc it's labor intensive including painting.
We decided to skip the remodel and decorate around what we had. Therefore shopping proceeded.
I must mention my mom, aunts, sisters, and friends help clean and sanitize the entire house. Thanks guys!
We bought two new mattresses. (On sale of course). Macys had their end of season sale which meant we scored big time! Especially with our airloom hotel collection king. Score!
Sweet love from Charlie.
Our next step in the house was going energy efficient. So we bought a few bulbs to replace the old energy suckers.
I hope this pays off in the long run. A few - over 50 bulbs. On sale of course from homedepot plus money back. Smart shoper.
No plumber needed. We got this. Charlie changed out all of the showers.
Our neighbors welcomed us to the neighborhood. Gift card and cookies.
I love getting things in the mail. Especially from macys. These are just pillows and blankets.
We were in search for the perfect bathroom mirror. For those of you who have been to our house you know we found a very unique piece. We love it.
We gave ourselves time to properly move out of our last apt. The proper way is to gradually move your furniture or in our case toss everything (his stuff). Then thoroughly clean for the next renters.
The extra month also helps you figure out how to fix the damage you caused to get back a full security deposit. Fun. The floors were like new. You can't find the flaw.
Good bye apt life hello homeownership
Celebrating the holidays!
We started creating a lifetime of memories
We found a new breakfast spot
Got a blue nose pit
Oh yea we have a pond. But it's been frozen for all winter. The ice is so thick you can stand on it.
Don't let this nice day fool you. It's still really cold and snowed a few times after this day.
This is just the start to more to come.
